Mold Kit
Professional Mold Test Kit from PRO-LAB (Rated #1)
"Medical studies have found that mold is the #1 cause of
allergic symptoms. The toxic mold Stachybotrys found in home, office and
school environments has been linked to fatal pulmonary
diorders."
"Prolab's professional mold test kit offers two (2) air sampling methods
which indicate the presence of mold in as little as 48 hours. If mold
growth is present in the air sample taken, an Optional Lab Analysis ($30) is
available which identifies the exact count and type of mold present. If no
mold growth occurs after the incubation period, analysis is not necessary.
Note: if you have mold presently growing in your home or office, you may also
take a visual mold sample and send it to our laboratory for analysis ($30) in
order to determine the type of mold present.
One mold test kit is needed for each room to be
tested.

What is Mold?
Molds are microscopic organisms found virtually everywhere, indoors, and
outdoors. Mold spores are very tiny and lightweight and easily detached by
airflow, vacuuming, walking on carpet or sitting on a couch. In indoor
environments they grow in air-conditioning ducts, carpets, pots of houseplants,
etc. They produce and release millions of spores, which are small enough
to stay airborne, threatening to invade the human respiratory system. Mold
growths can often be seen in the form of discoloration, ranging from white to
orange and from green to brown and black. In large quantities, molds can
cause allergic symptoms similar to those caused by plant pollen. In order
for mold to grow, it needs food sources (such as leaves, wood, paper, or dirt),
a source of moisture, and a place to grow.
How do you come in contact with
mold?
Mold spores are found in the air and growing on damp surfaces. The
following are sources of indoor moisture that may cause mold problems in your
home or office: flooding, leaky roofs, humidifiers, damp basements or
crawl spaces, constant plumbing leaks, house plants, steam from cooking,
shower/bath steam and leaks, wet clothes, and clothes dryers vented indoors.
What can mold do to you?
When inhaled, even in small amounts, all mold can cause a range of health
problems including respiratory problems (wheezing), nasal and sinus congestion,
watery and red eyes, nose and throat irritation, skin irritation, aches and
pains, fevers, and in some cases even death. Mold can also cause
structural damage to your home. Exposure to mold is not healthy for anyone
but the following individuals are at a higher risk for adverse health
effects: infants, children, elderly, immune compromised patients, pregnant
women, and individuals with existing repiratory conditions.
How do you find out if you have a mold
problem?
To find out if mold is a problem in your home or office, you must test.
The PRO-LAB Professional Mold Test Kit should be used as your
First Step in identifying toxic mold spores that could be dangerous to your
health and your environment."
